Why do we disguise?

Why have we set different standards for society and our own families? Why do we respect and pay homage to Bhagat Singh  , Chandra Shekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi  , Gautam Buddha  , Swami Vivekananda  , Guru Gobind Singh, Jesus Christ, Prophet Muhammad, Shirdi Sai and myriad of other names which can be figured here; when we do not want our child to become anyone of them? Hypocrisy has somehow become true nature of human being; and to certain extent it is acceptable. However, things go for a toss, when we entirely forget who we are and live in a dream materialistic world. For instance, we have become so materialistic that most of us can't live without our mobile phones even for a minute. We have become addicted. And it has marred the entire society where it has become social addiction and we are happy that we have advanced, entered in era of Smart phones which might diminish our entity.
